Environmental Education Activities - School Year 2009/2010

Parco Fluviale del Po torinese collaborates with schools, local subjects and authorities operating within its territory, suggesting environmental education activities to schools and organized groups.
It belongs to Sistema Provinciale dei Centri di Educazione Ambientale della Provincia di Torino, is recognized as an autonomous center and, thanks to the coordination with Laboratorio Territoriale in Turin, plans and implements every year environmental education projects dedicated to schools and aimed at spreading the culture of environmental and social sustainability in the provincial territory.

Learning from the River Po

Ente di Gestione del Sistema delle Aree Protette della Fascia Fluviale del Po - Tratto Torinese welcomes a new season rich in didactic proposals for schools situated both in the Park Municipalities and outside them. The stretch of the river Po involving the area of Turin covers a surface of over 14,000 hectares, including parts of Sangone, Stura di Lanzo, and Dora Baltea, across 3 Provinces: Cuneo, Turin, and Vercelli, and 35 Municipalities.

The area of the Po River Park, characterized by the presence of very different features - sites of great naturalistic value, presence of human activity, careful planning for environmental rehabilitation - has all the potentialities of a real "educational laboratory" scattered all over the territory.
Its characteristic connotation of urban park gives the opportunity to thoroughly study the relationships existing between man and environment, which are still often considered to be different elements: by mistake, "environment" means a natural place which has not been influenced by human action.
